On this training tour you can enjoy your first mountaineering tour safely and well supervised by our Mountain Guides. You will learn the following skills:

• Knots
• Walking with crampons and safety techniques
• Handling the ice axe
• Walking on a rope
• Tour preparation
• Equipment information

After the course you can take part in easy mountaineering tours led by a Mountain Guide, e.g. Wildstrubel, Pollux, etc.

Day 1

Individual arrival at the meeting point. Welcome and orientation about the upcoming weekend by the Mountain Guide. Train journey to the Jungfraujoch and ascent to the Mönchsjochhütte. On the way, you will learn the training content and more about the equipment. Afterwards, enjoy a delicious evening meal in the hut and a cosy get-together. (Distance: 2km, walking time: 1h, ascent/descent: 200/0 metres)

Day 2

With light packs, we climb at sunrise over the Ewigschneefeld, framed by the Trugberg, Mönch and Fiescherhorn to an altitude of 3,400 metres, from where the route climbs again and leads us over the glaciated southern flank to the summit. We are rewarded with a view down to Grindelwald and the south face of the Eiger, which is marked off by the famous Mittellegi ridge. The way back takes us past our starting point at the Mönchsjochhütte, where we pack up the equipment we left behind. From there, the final descent to the Jungfraujoch is just a stone's throw away. Individual journey home from Jungfraujoch. (Distance 8 km, walking time: 5-6 h, ascent/descent: 540/700 metres)

Our mountain guide will bring the ordered rental equipment to the agreed meeting point. The following equipment can be hired from us:

• Glacier-Set (rope harness, crampons, ice axe)

Please note that the rucksack with the equipment should not weigh more than 8 to 10 kg (crampons, ice axe, rope harness weigh around 1.5 kg).
